Hello Internet! First things first, yes - this week's blog post is a day late. Sorry if that has bothered you, but in my defense university is truly killing me right now πŸ˜’ With multiple assignments and a bucket of reading to do, I am also sorry that this week's blog post is also going to be probably one of the shortest in the history of the world 😱 I figured that whenever I am in a bind and don't have a lot of time for in-depth and groundbreaking discussions/reviews, I would give y'all some more useless information about myself. I hope you don't mind 😸😸😸 So without further ado, here are 20 of my favourite things.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Favourite fruit? Grapes, bananas, mangoes and pineapples – just to name a few πŸ˜ƒ 2. Favourite movie villain? Disney: Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Her scheming fabulousness is something we should all asp...

Wild Wednesday: Eurovision 2017 Recommendations

Heyhey Internet πŸ’Ÿ I hope y'all are feeling good about this week and life in general. Personally, I have a lot going on right now with university assignments so apologies in advance for a relatively short post this week πŸ™ˆ Consistency is one of my goals for 2017 so I didn't want to leave whoever reads this without some content for this week. So with that being said, this week I wanted to shed a little bit of light on one of my favourite things in the entire world: Eurovision.... 🎢🎢🎢 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am not ashamed to say that I love Eurovision. I think it is one of the most beautiful celebrations of music and culture we have ever created whilst also being genuinely fun to watch and follow every year. The 2017 competition wrapped up a few days ago with the lovely Salvador Sobral from Portugal coming out victorious. But is it crazy that I am still listening ...

Wednesday Wisdom - Getting Candid: Why I Started Blogging

Image
Hey there Internet! Welcome back to another exciting week on the blog πŸ˜€ I hope you are doing well wherever you are in the world and life isn't getting you down too much πŸ‘ For today's blog post, I wanted to officially start a series that I have been working on for a while. From the title, you can see that this series is called Getting Candid. It's basically a place where I am going to talk about some topics that are potentially more controversial, complex and especially today, quite personal. So I thought that it would be incredibly appropriate to start off my Getting Candid series with talking about why I started Miss Memphis as a blog endeavour. I hope that today's post and whatever Getting Candid goes on to be in the future allows you to learn a little bit more about me whilst also getting an insight into the way I think and see the world. As much as I love writing reviews and fun stuff, it's also important to have some balance in life. So without furt...

Long Way Home (Book Review)

Heyhey Internet! I hope you are doing well wherever you are in the world right now, and that life is treating you OK. I have been uber busy with all things university, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten about my Miss Memphis duties 😁😁😁 Thanks for letting me be a little bit selfish last week with my The Next Step fangirl session. I know it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due and they're awesome πŸ’ƒ. For this week's blog post, it's going to be another gush fest πŸ™ˆ I finally got a chance to read my favourite YA author Katie McGarry's latest novel Long Way Home from her amazing Thunder Road series and I LOVED it! πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’š So without further ado, here is my book review of Long Way Home: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Seventeen-year-old Violet has always been expected to sit back and let the boys do a...
