Sunday Up Late - 3 Musical Faves....🎵

Hello there Internet!

I hope you are doing well wherever you are in the world today 🌏

First things first, if you guys haven’t noticed, this is what I do when my writer’s block is really kicking me in the head. Trust me, it's been a real problem today.

That should also explain why this was uploaded so late in the week. I apologise 😑

Apparently, spewing my feelings on some random songs I currently love seems to be helpful in getting the juices flowing. I don’t understand how my brain works either 😣.

I also hope you don’t mind this post being a little short and sweet. Let's just hope my block gets better and we can quickly move on from this 🙏

Anyway, let’s get started….

I’ve lost count of how many of these I’ve done. That should tell you something about how much I seem to enjoy writing about music in this particular fashion.

So, sit back and enjoy this week’s musical favourites. I’ve only got 3 singles for you today because I have been listening to a lot of albums on repeat recently.

If you have already heard of these songs, congratulations on your fantastic taste in music. But if you haven’t, get them in your playlists ASAP because I guarantee they are quite good.

3. Smoke Clears – Andy Grammer

The second single off Grammer’s third album “The Good Parts”, this upbeat pop tune is a great combination of fun instrumentation and uplifting lyrics. Any dance party track list needs this song because it’s guaranteed to make people smile. Plus, the message of support and being there for the people we love in times of need is something that’ll never get old.

Fave Lyric: “You'll never be alone even when your world explodes, 'cause after all the smoke clears, I will be right here”.

2. Personal – The Vamps ft. Maggie Lindemann

“Personal” is an energetic pop/rock track from the Day version of British group The Vamps’ third album Night & Day. The lyrical story is incredibly relatable, as it talks about how a guy is in love with a girl and thinks she can do better than the guy’s she currently with. The addition of American singer/songwriter Maggie Lindemann’s edgy vocals makes this song the essence of fun and cool.

Fave Lyric: “Don't take it personal, but personally, I think you'd be better with somebody like me. But worse of all, you don't even see”.

1. Home – X Ambassadors, Machine Gun Kelly, Bebe Rexha

Source: YouTube

“Home” is a powerful song originally off the soundtrack for Netflix sci-fi film Bright. The strength of rockers X Ambassadors, the smooth vocals of American singer Bebe Rexha and some poignantly raw rhymes from rapper Machine Gun Kelly make for a winning combination. Its catchy chorus and edgy tone leaves a lasting impression of defiance. An intense yet important listening experience for sure.

Fave Lyric: “I found no cure for the loneliness, I found no cure for the sickness. Nothing here feels like home. Crowded streets, but I'm all alone”.

Go forth and listen to these tracks 🎵. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. But if you are... my bad 🙍

Happy listening!

I hope you enjoyed whatever that was. It was short and not very informative, but I do genuinely like these songs I promise.
