thoughts from a drama queen in an iso box: day five

hello world.

today was very odd, mainly because my energy levels went up and down like a see-saw. i decided that today was going to be a ‘no stream’ day, meaning i wasn’t going to watch anything on netflix, disney+, prime video or any of other ones i can't be bothered naming. i thought i was getting square eyes from watching so much binge television, so i thought i would get my square eyes (and also enjoyment) from other places for my sunday.

having said that, i did go through periods where i felt like i had no energy and even took a little siesta after lunch. i am experiencing the corona ‘drain’ (as i am calling it) whilst still feeling sinusy in the head. who knew there was still gunk left inside my head to cough/sneeze out?! also glad to report i still have a sense of smell and taste, so i am hesitantly calling my experience with ms ‘rona as very mild – an outcome i am incredibly grateful for.

in other news, today was sunday july tenth and whilst in iso i did/thought the following:

made serious progress in super mario odyssey!! Yes folks, i got back to hanging with my second fave Italian plummer and his funky red hat on their quest through so many different kingdoms to rescue peach from evil boy bowser for what is canonically the umpteenth time. whilst i do work for a video games company and am a proud owner of a (very pretty) nintendo switch lite, i am going to confess something: i suck at video games. it was not something this booksmart writer lady did much growing up and it is certainly not a skill that comes naturally. for the same reasons i believe i am terrible (and thus very anxious-riddled) at driving a car, it’s the combination of finesse, hand/eye coordination and patience required to play console games in particular that is nowhere to be found in my genetic makeup. therefore, playing games takes me a while… like a sloth running a marathon ‘while’. so the completion of three kingdoms and getting through some seriously difficult moves made me a proud lil’ gamer today!

played with some new disney themed eyeshadow! in addition to becoming addicted to wearing lipstick because it’s fun and another exciting way to add colour to my pale face, i have also gone down eyeshadow intrigue road in 2022. it is another skill i am not terribly good at, but i have a deep interest and desire to learn how to add glitter and colour to another part of my face without hopefully ruining things. i am also currently dealing with how to make my pale hooded eyes situation look good with my mediocre skills, so if y’all have any tips send them my way!

studded and ‘distressed’ another one of my graphic t-shirts. if there is one thing that is happening to me in 2022 besides covid sickness and turning 24, it is the rebellious ‘rock?’ phase i never had as a teenager. to fulfill the stereotype, i died my hair purple and one of my favourite things to do is to add studs and stylish rips to t-shirts. my latest victim was a tweedy shirt i am quite fond of, so please tell me if you see me out in the world wearing it that i look cool – i love compliments (asked for in advance….).

enough waffle from me, i shall check in same time tomorrow for the penultimate chapter!

love and the ultimate comfort food – a warm mexican burrito and mexican chips with chipotle mayo,

emily xx
