Sunday Up Late - Something APP-tastic....
Hi Internet!
I hope you are doing well wherever you are in the world right now 🌏
(Disclaimer: Let's just ignore the fact that I am actually uploading this very, very, very early on a Monday morning.... Thanks.)
It's been 9 days since I last uploaded on here, which oddly feels like a damn eternity 😲
Lots of things have been happening within that time because it's been another crazy week in university land.
To be honest, I don't really have the time to be writing this right now. But procrastination is something I am particularly wonderful at and my brain wants to do this way more than my assignments/university work 🙈🙈🙈
So this is going to be a bit of a quick little post this week - I hope you don't mind 😀
I had the thought of this week's blog topic a while back, but my perspective on it changed recently and I finally feel like now is a good time to put it out into the universe. It's short, it's sweet and hopefully it might even be helpful for someone out there 😉
So without further ado, here are some APP-tastic thoughts on what's happening on my iPod....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's 2017 and smart devices are ruling the world. It's a fact we need to accept, especially since more and more of our lives are played out in the digital realm. The power of technology means that pretty much ANYTHING can be achieved through the use of some kind of computer or smartphone.
Whether this is consequently good or bad for society is another argument for another day (when I have more time and energy...), but nevertheless - the things we are able to do with handheld technology in particular is quite amazing.
With the craziness of university currently taking full control of my life, I find myself using my Apple iPod touch for a variety of different important and/or miscellaneous tasks. Whether my intention is to pass time or be productive in my own special way, I am obsessed with APPS.
But not any old random apps y'all. In my search, I have come up with some essentials that I think everyone should have at least 2 of on their smart device of choice. Let me know if you agree in the comments below 👍
Prepare yourself for a countdown of apps coming at you! Oh, did I mention that they are all free... Yay!
Fun fact about me for free - I LOVE puzzle apps. Ever since I was little, I have loved all these quirky puzzles and brain teasers that give your mind a bit of a logic workout.
Now I am not talking about Candy Crush or Temple Run. They're cool and fun and stuff, but my heart has always been with the likes of Mahjong, Sudoku and the one and only - Solitaire!
They are excellent ways to pass the time if you don't want a finger cramp scrolling on the net or if you are in a place that hasn't got free Wi-Fi. Plus they are just really fun to do and you feel great when you solve one, especially when they get more difficult.
Another one of my not-so-guilty pleasures, I spend a lot of time playing word games with myself. I pride myself on being a Word Search Wizard from way back, and I have only recently embraced the Crossword lifestyle by buying books and downloading a stack of free apps.
I might have a problem... but I don't care.
My personal favourite is pictured above, called One Word Crossword. In my opinion, it is a more challenging format than a traditional crossword app because you are only given a single photo as the clue.
All of the words come out of the photo somehow. It requires a bit of deep level thinking at times, but that's the fun of it y'all!
Potentially one of the most underrrated groups of apps in the app-mosphere (hehe 😂), these creative ones are actually another fun way to pass the time without selling your soul to the demons of social media.
My two favourites at the moment are Adobe Photoshop Express and Colorfy. I use PS Express for editing pretty much all of my Instagram photos, and their effects and borders make my flower and lyric photos look really crazy and artsy. It's a great way to give your pics a professional touch without paying a tonne.
Colorfy is pictured about and it's my new favourite thing, and I am yet to fully muck around with it but it excites me greatly. It's basically colouring in on a smart device, and you can create masterpieces in categories like flowers and mandalas. Score some extra relaxation points and try this one out!
But without a doubt, the winner in the app department is something to play your tunes out of! Life isn't complete without a playlist that represents you in melody and lyric form, and you need to carry this with you wherever you go - no exceptions!
Whether it's the pre-programed music app or Apple Music that is built into iPod/iPhone devices, or if you're a die hard Spotify fan like me and bought Premium because you couldn't stand the ad's anymore; mobile music is always a priority.
If you want to take your musical app experience to the next level, investigate the likes of iHeart Radio, Tidal and Soundcloud to find even more awesome music on the go! What's not to love?
There is no doubting the diversity and scope of the modern app landscape. Let's be real, if you need it on your smart device someone has more than likely made an app for it. It's always super fun and exciting to experiment with new apps, and learn some new things along the way.
From the essential music ones to the funny puzzle ones, get ya face in some apps y'all! Happy time-wasting 📱📱📱📱📱
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So there we go, something slightly weird but fun for you to enjoy 😆 If you have any thoughts on these apps or have other apps that you just can't live without, leave them in the comments 💙 If you enjoyed this post, please share it and recommend to friends 👍
Question of the Day: If you could invent any kind of app possible, what would it be and why? Leave me your suggestions in the comments below, and be sure to follow me on Instagram (using your app 😉 - @miss_memphis98) to keep up with when I decide to post stuff 🌸

Prepare yourself for a countdown of apps coming at you! Oh, did I mention that they are all free... Yay!
5. Social Media Apps
I thought I would start off with these lovely applications because it would seem that no millennial can survive without them these days.
Truth be told, I am not social media's biggest fan but I do frequent the Facebook and Instagram from time to time. The instant accessibility of these distraction fountains seems like an absolute nightmare, but they can also be awesome places to find hilarity and ridiculousness on the Internet.
I feel like I am preaching to the choir with this one because literally everyone has all kinds of weird and wonderful social networks on their phones. I am just the strange human that only has like two....
4. Puzzle Games
Fun fact about me for free - I LOVE puzzle apps. Ever since I was little, I have loved all these quirky puzzles and brain teasers that give your mind a bit of a logic workout.
